Three Ways To Fight The Incinerator Now

The Finger Lakes are facing an enormous environmental, public health and economic threat that few people know about. There is a new proposal to build a massive garbage incinerator in the town of Romulus, New York, less than 4 miles from the shores of Seneca and Cayuga Lakes. If approved, it would be built at the old Seneca Army Depot, just a few hundred yards away from the Romulus K-12 public school. It is also near Hillside Children’s Center, a residential facility for troubled youth, the 5 Points Correctional Facility, Willard Drug Treatment Center and the Seneca County Jail, making this an environmental justice issue.

We have 3 time- sensitive requests, as outlined below:

1. Add your organization’s name to the growing list of Finger Lakes incinerator opponents
Fill out the form to be included with a growing list of organizations that are opposed to the Finger Lakes incinerator project. A sample resolution is also enclosed. Feel free to pass that along to others. We will accept your opposition to the project at any time, but please try to respond to this request as quickly as possible

2. Make a donation to block the incinerator
Make a tax-deductible donation to Seneca Lake Guardian. We are an all-volunteer organization designed to administer funds exclusively for and in advancement of projects to promote sustainable energy, increase investment in water supply/sewer systems, and to challenge destructive power plants, reckless development and decrepit infrastructure.

You can make a donation online or by mailing a check to:
